DOCTRINE OF REVELATION…We believe that the Bible, the entire 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God and are therefore without error in their original writings. These writings alone are eternal (Isaiah 40:8) and they constitute the verbally inspired Word of God which is our final and absolute authority in all matters (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
DOCTRINE OF GOD…We believe in one God, eternally existing (Genesis 1:1) and revealed as three (3) equal persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God. (Psalm 24:1) Each person has precisely the same nature and attributes and is worthy of the same worship, honour and praise. (Matthew 28:18-20)
DOCTRINE OF CREATION…We believe that the triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit created the world from nothing (Genesis 1:1-31; Psalm 24:1; John 1:1-3) and the design was good. God also governs all things, at all times, in all places. He upholds the universe by the word of His power and He holds the world together in Himself (Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3).
DOCTRINE OF CHRIST…We believe in the absolute and essential deity of Jesus Christ (John 14:7-11). We believe in His eternal existence with the Father as both God and Man (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-5). We believe He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:27), and that He died for the sins of the whole world (2 Corinthians 5:21) and that He was resurrected bodily from the grave, and He triumphantly ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9-11). We believe that He mediates between God and man (Hebrews 4:14-16), and one day, imminently, He will personally return to earth in power and glory (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
DOCTRINE OF SIN…We believe that sin has fractured all of creation, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation. Through the temptation of Satan, humanity transgressed the command of God and fell from their original holiness and righteousness (Genesis 3). As a result, the entire human race has inherited a corrupt nature that is radically opposed to God and His law (Romans 3:9-20). Therefore, all humanity is under condemnation. We believe in the total depravity of all mankind, which extends to the mind, the will, the body and its affections. Apart from God’s salvation in Christ alone, humanity lives under the dominion of sin and Satan (Ephesians 2:1-3) He is at enmity with God and is hostile and hateful of God. (Ephesians 2:1-3) We believe in election according to the foreknowledge of God (Romans 8:29-30) and in justification by faith through the blood and righteousness of Christ. (Romans 5:1; Galatians 3:24; Titus 3:4-7)
DOCTRINE OF SALVATION…We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. We believe that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born again. (John 3:5-8) We believe that salvation is only by God’s grace through simple faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ; and that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ through faith are declared righteous by God and become children of God (Hebrews 10:19-25). We believe that the Bible teaches that regeneration or the new birth is an act of God where the Holy Spirit imparts a new nature and a new spiritual life and the person becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20) the mind is given a holy disposition and a new desire to serve God, the dominion of sin is broken and the heart is transformed from a love of sin and self to a love of holiness and God. We believe in eternal security that once a person is saved, they are saved forever (Colossians 1:21-23; Matthew 10:22; John 10:27-29; Romans 8:38-39; Philippians 1:6; 1 Corinthians 1:8-9)
DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH…We believe that the Church, both the local and the global Church is the body of Christ who is sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God (Matthew 5:16). God, by His Word and His Spirit, creates the Church, calling sinful humanity into the fellowship of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:12-31) The Church is made up of those who have become genuine followers of Jesus Christ and have personally appropriated the gospel. The Church exists to worship and glorify God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The ministry of the Church is an extension of the ministry of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. The ultimate mission of the church is to bring glory to God by making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20) The Church makes disciples through:
- Worship…(Deuteronomy 6:5; John 4:22-24; John 12:32; Romans 12:1)
- Prayer…(Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
- Teaching of the Word of God…(2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 2:15)
- The observance of the Ordinances…(See Article VII)
- Mutual Edification… (1 Corinthians 14:26)
- Fellowship… (Acts 2:42-46)
- Proclamation of the Gospel both in our community and around throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 6:19-20)
DOCTRINE OF FUTURE THINGS…We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to the world, personally, physically, visibly and gloriously to judge the living and the dead before the millennial Kingdom. We believe that all mankind will one day be resurrected from the dead. We believe that the saved, will be raised to the eternal reward of the redeemed, having glorious bodies, will reign with Jesus Christ forever, serving Him and giving Him ceaseless praise and glory. We also believe the unsaved will also be raised from the dead and will face God’s judgment and conscious, eternal separation from the presence of God in hell. We also believe that, Satan, with his hosts will also endure conscious, eternal punishment (Revelation 20:7-15). We also believe that one day the eager expectation of creation will be fulfilled (Romans 8:18-21), and the whole earth shall proclaim the glory of God, who makes all things new (Revelation 21:1-5).
